Wee Jimmy Crankie has been very quiet lately.

The SNP will bide their time and along with other members of the commonwealth seize the opportunities offered by the coronation to push the republican agenda. I would like Scotland to stay as part of the UK, it's in their broader interests as well as ours, but it is difficult ignore public opinion if/when a clear majority want independence. We shared sovereignty with the EU for over 40 years, Scotland have shared it somewhat longer, so difficult to object in principle to change, if the people demonstrate that they want it.

True, but I don't hear anyone calling for another referendum on EU membership. The remainers have moved on and respected the vote. To have an independence referendum, lose and then keep coming back until the answer is yes, doesn't help anyone. Also the mood seems to be shifting back (based on the polls).

No need for full membership, but a trade agreement that would help the economy and resolve the NI backstop maybe.

Blup
