Waterfall tap not releasing water

The waterfall tap on our bathroom sink has suddenly stopped releasing any water when the lever is lifted. Is it likely there's a washer or part in the mechanism that can be replaced? All other water sources in the house are fine and it was working quite happily then suddenly not.

There is a cartridge inside that the lever attaches to, that is the part that is replaceable. Do you know the make of the tap? That's quite essential to sourcing the correct cartridge and there are 100's of different ones.

Thanks Madrab. No idea of the make....it was in the house when we moved in and doesn't have a brand name on it. I'm not a big fan of the whole waterfall thing - the tap doesn't seem to offer much control and it's more gush than flow - so the path of least resistance might just be to replace the whole thing!
