The wiring behind the ST7100 looks much more complicated with three wires going into the backplate but I am not sure where these wires all come from and therefore which ones are necessary for installing the ST9400C.

If you’re not sure, should you be even touching it?

You are right. What is described as a simple rewiring job seems now much more complicated. Ideally I would have bought a replacement ST7100 but they seem to be unobtainable. If you know of a source that would be very helpful.

Thanks

Rick

I found this on the Honeywell website. It says it is for our region; EMEA. It gives a bit of background.

The functional replacement for the Honeywell Home ST7100 programmer is the ST9400C1000.

The ST9400C1000 will not fit onto the same base back plate so it will be necessary to carry out some electrical work.

ST7100 to the ST9400C

7 goes to 1
4 goes to 2
8 goes to 3
5 goes to 4
L goes to L
N goes to N
disregard links to 3 and 6

Yes thanks I had seen that but as I had more wires to find homes for I didn't feel confident in using it. If there had been just the one wire coming in then I would have given that a go.
