I need to do a job at my brother’s place involving shoring up a bay window (not my idea, just following a report that was done) where the 900mm 30x5mm restraint straps are specified, but bent at 45 degrees. I haven’t got one of these to hand but I don’t think they’re particularly easy to bend? Or shall I just man up and give it a good whack? I’ve no idea whether to start with a straight one or a 90degree one either.

Cheers, without trying it I wasn’t sure. I’ll put it over a block or something and give it a whack to get it 45 degrees ish

They do bend, you'll be much better off if you have a bench vice or similar to clamp the thing in and a bit of scaff tube to give you the leverage to bend it at the correct point.
