No, so why bother?

Blup
Let's pretend you were going to get stung by bees. A bee suit will protect you from most of the stings but not all of them. Wouldn't you still want a bee suit?

Why does nobody discuss the ever growing world population?

Surely that’s the key behind reducing consumption of everything
Probably doesn’t get as heated and thread locked. Feel free to start a thread though.

You're right, no one ever discusses it. Except for every time a net zero thread comes up. It's always discussed.

Population is a factor but it is less significant than you'd think. If you can get 10 million to next zero then you can get 10 billion to net zero.

I wasn’t really thinking about on here, it’s in general across all the media and political parties.

the world population in 1920 was about 2 billion, by 2020 it was about 8 billion, so 4 times as many people

this growth has to have an affect

Net zero can only be achieved when there is net zero population.

Does that not worry you?

I was being ironic, but the implication was that if the target can't be reached, it's not worth pursuing any form of climate change mitigation. I suspect it is too late to avoid major weather impacts that will displace millions of people. Asylum figures will seem like a drop in the ocean.
