Hi,
I clipped the soil pipe on the side of my house when reversing my car up our driveway It cracked around the T-junction where the horizontal pipe coming from inside the house joins with the vertical soil pipe on the external wall.
I had the boiler serviced just before Christmas and asked the guy from the gas/plumbing firm to take a look and he said he'd provide a quote to repair it. The total quoted, ex VAT, is just under £800. This was quite a bit more than I was expecting. To be fair I know next to nothing about plumbing, but to my untrained eye it didn't look like a particularly time-consuming job or one that needed lots of materials (besides a new pipe and fittings), so £800 feels quite steep to me.
I was just looking for some advice if this seems like a reasonable price or if it seems too high?
I've attached photos showing the pipe externally, and internally (under the floor where the pipe exits the side of the wall).
Thanks!
