Paving joint compound

I have a large area of paving that was laid 2 years ago. The builder used joint compound, which looks great, but it doesn't seem to be as tough as I expected and there are some joints that have small sections that need re-pointing. I'm okay to do the job but I only need a very small amount of the compound. From what I've read once the container is opened the jointing compound must be used within a few days but since I'll only need a small amount there would be huge wastage.

Can joint compound be stored for later use once opened or is there something similar available in small quantities?

Thanks
