The 6 degrees of separation would mean that all of the asylum seekers are not that far removed from your immediate family.
6 degrees of separation is awfully close to one's immediate family.
The theory of 6 degrees of separation has been tested and verified by experiment.
Are we really saying to our friends and family, "sorry, we can't (won't) help you. You'll have to suffer your fate."

Also you post as a Reform voter. Exactly what were you protesting about? What did you hope it would achieve?
Some pundits correctly say that who ever is in gov need to hold some grown up conversations with the public on the subject of immigration. Pretence that there are simple solutions to any form of it are just not on.
So, no Nigel Farage means no more riots, no more boats, no more millions of migrants.

Yes and no. He stirs in his usual fashion and on riots backs out as soon as he can. So far the only person that seems to have complained about him seems to be a Tory. Starmer refused to be drawn - the bloke was elected. Farage's approach on that is much like similar in several countries - LOL even the US. Pick and emotive subject and don't really give any context to it. If they get in power surprise surprise they find they have a problem. The EU may figure as well forgetting it's advantages even if it doesn't work as well as it might.
