Waterline header tank

At what level would you set the water line on a F&E tank. So it doesn't expand above the overflow level. Thanks
 
It all really depends on system size/volume, the size of the cistern taking that the system is nice and clean and restriction free. As an open vent system runs it breathes into the cistern and the water level can fall, rise and then fall again, so the trick is have enough water so it sits in the middle. On a typical 4Gal cistern they seem to be happy around half way which normally equates to around ~100mm.
 
As suggested, it all depends on the cistern size really but a good rule of thumb is 100mm if it's a regular 4Gal cistern
