As I've said before, I'd love to see a chart showing manifesto commitments going back 50 years or so, and a column showing to what % each commitment was 100% delivered. I think it would make for very interesting reading ...

some comments are more genuine in their intensions than others
Politicians = traitors.
Remember that, whatever colour they are. They're all selling us down the river. They're just in it for themselves and managing the decline of this once great nation. Without some kind of revolution which will probably never happen, we're just on a gradual downward trajectory.

They can't put every decision about tax choices, made twice a year for five years, in a manifesto. Rather stupidly, they have committed themselves to not raise taxes on personal income, which was silly given that much higher investmest is needed to fund all the things that are important to people.

To be fair I always feel that's a cheap comment to make.
We're not politicians. We've not actively tried, and succeeded, to gain power. We don't profess to be experts in the fields of health, education, the economy etc.
Politicians are there to do best by the citizens, something they frequently fall far short in achieving.
Where to start? MMmmm, what about not giving billions (over years granted) to foreign countries, at least one of which now has a friggin' space programme!
Foreign aid is an effective instrument of soft power.
It’s not a zero sum game as people think.

I recommend that you listen to notches utube link. This bloke IS Notch - listen to his rantings - populism blah blah Brexit blah - trump blah farage blah. He talks exactly like Notch - either he is Notch or its just where Notch gets all his ideas from. He even looks like what I think notch looks like.
