In some cases yes. However even a run of the mill divorce can leave some kids with emotional and/or mental health issues. Throw this sort of thing into the mix (mum's new partner is a woman who thinks they're a man) and it's only adding to the challenges kids face, loved or not.

I've tried to find some research now, but have only found one study. It seems to say that is makes no difference to the child. Children might be better at adapting to these type of things than adults. They can be like that, even though it might seem counter-intuitive. Or you can just trust your gut instinct.

No it is a sexual orientation. No we should not ban homosexuality.

We shouldn't lie to kids about facts of life though, nor should we make them refer to a male as a she or vice versa. It is gaslighting and a form of emotional abuse. Truth matters.

People used to make the same sort of comments when one parent turned gay. I think you are worrying too much about the effect on the children. As long as they are loved, they will be OK.

You don't know that though. You've no idea how the child feels in the evironment they are in. Conflating homosexuality with gender identity is a bait and switch move used to shut others up or attempt to make them look homophobic.
