Hello,

Trying to understand if this wall has a cavity, as the wall does get cold and has a outside render. I have been told the house was built in the 1930 but I am not sure how accurate this is. Thanks

Has anyone ever built a solid wall that's 11.5" thick? Other than on a castle.

My likely guess is 1" pebble dash + 4" brick + 2" cavity (old days standard) + 4" brick + 0.5" plaster = 11.5"

I've built 13 inch solid walls, but not on a standard modern house. However nowadays with people adding insulation to their walls you can't always be sure from measurements at the jambs.
I'd say though that the figures you give are the most likely.
