Labour thug jailed.

The sentence seems broadly appropriate given the sustained attack, reference to his position of power, the fact he knocked him to the ground and kept going. As the Judge said.. sometimes such attacks are fatal.
Appropriate for the offence but he should have been charged with a more serious crime. 10 weeks is too low a sentence given given the aggravating factors.
 
How was he to apprehend the suspect? Ask them to stop politely?
Was his intention to stop the person ?

From what I've read he wanted to chase him away

I can understand using something handy to stop him. But once he's made his escape, presumably without any goods, whats the weapon for ?
