Republicans target same sex marriage

Are "lifestyle choice" and "social construct" related.
I don't know, I honestly have not thought about it. If a woman doesn't want sexual relations with a man that should be her choice. That is where I stand on it.

Here we go.

Notch has got his claws out.

It's all beyond me!

So do you believe that homosexuality is a lifestyle choice?

"Struck down as unconstitutional"
DOMA , dead as your brain cell.

It is all fantastically complicated. There is nothing in the constitution which says explicitly that there is a fundamental right to marry. So, over decades, arguments have been made that various different parts of the constitution imply a right to marry.

Not a prayer.

The main case on same sex marriage was decided in 2015 with a 5-4 vote. But the vote was split on "party" lines, which in those days were 5-4 in favour of the "left". But now the balance of the court has completely reversed, and there is a 6-3 majority in favour of the "right". I think a reversal of this decision is very likely. Just as when the Supreme Court reversed the law on abortion a couple of years ago.

Technically it is a sexual orientation and a lifestyle choice. I have a good female friend who is a lesbian but she is not looking to have children nor has always been only attracted to her own sex.

says Motorbiking who repeatedly called people "Jew haters" without a shred of evidence

says Motorbiking who constantly denies there is a serious problem with wealth inequality in the UK

says Motorbiking whose arguments are built on a stream of logical fallacies

Motorbiking seriously needs some self reflection (y)
I provided evidence, you rejected it. You are not impartial.
Again and again, I have said the solution is to help those at the bottom, develop skills and know how, so that at least some of them can achieve a higher potential.

Have you read the text lol. Seems like you haven't....again.

The 1996 Defence of Marriage Act, specifically allowed states to reject same sex marriage. This was law from 1996 until 2013
Which bit about it being Law from 1996 to 2013, didn't you understand?

Always trying to pretend someone said something different, when proven wrong... thats our Nosenout. (y)

I do admire your attempt to educate him.

I understood it perfectly as well as its irrelevance. Keep clinging to struck down, unconstitutional laws, if it makes you feel better, lol.
so you accept that between 1996 and 2013..
It didn't need to, as it was never deemed illegal in the eyes of the law (US Constitution), in the first place. There is a recognised 'fundamental right to marry' according to the US Constitution.
was incorrect.

phew.. I thought that was going to take 100 pages.
