Grant Vortex Eco Utility 26 -35 Oil Burner Lockouts

Hello All,

Looking for some advise or help in terms of our Grant Vortex Eco Utility 26 -35 oil burner lockouts issues. Sorry I’m no expert with boilers and will try explain the best I can with what’s happening.

The boiler has been locking out randomly and we are unsure why. It can run fine for weeks and not be an issue, then it may lock out every day, then back to a few weeks etc. it’s just random

Boiler has been service and maintained regularly each year.

We’ve had a an engineer come out several time to look at it and they have found it difficult to fault find the issue. (Engineer was sent out via home insurance)

He’s checked all components like photo cell, ignition started, etc and found no issues.

We have had the following parts replaced.

Control box
Capacitor
HVAC

The condenser was also cleaned out.

One thing we have noticed is our Thermostat doesn’t turn the heat of the water down so could this possibly be an issue?

Any advise on what to do next or what we should be looking at would be great.

If boiler stat is not working correctly that needs addressing.
What type of flue is on the boiler? Some clear pictures would help.

Sorry I mean to say the thermostat on the water cylinder tank not on the boiler itself.

Wouldn't be a bad thing to shorten that air hose.
When it's light pictures of flue termination please.

Assuming the flue has been correctly assembled that looks fine.
To be honest I would strongly recommend finding a local experience oil service engineer. To make any meaningful adjustments to a oil burner you need at least a pressure gauge and combustion analysis equipment.
I would make sure next engineer takes analysis from actual flue terminal it can make a difference .
If engineer is not familiar with Grant's speak to there technical team.
They are excellent and will talk you through problems in stark contrast to some other oil boiler manufacturers.
