Does anybody know how to contact HMRC with a query?
I’ve got an email address [email protected], but I just get an automated reply saying please contact the appropriate team. It includes a web address GOV.UK (www.gov.uk), which I’ve been on several times already, but which gives no clue about who are the appropriate team, and how to contact them.

Feeling very frustrated, any help welcome!

I was on hold the other week for over an hour, they make the whole process harder so they expect you to give up .Quick enough to take and chase for the money though arnt they .

Latest tax code notice should give contact details or alternatively ask your employer which office deals with them. Unless your self employed of course.

I wondered that as it’s an odd time of year to have questions
I got a letter a couple of days ago about selling online. Phoned them up (got through immediately on 0300 123 0998) and to be honest, they didn't have a ****ing clue and they suggested emailing. Sent an email asking them to contact me if they want me to fill any forms in. I've left the ball in their court.

They've given me a tax code for 25-26 and say it includes some unpaid tax "from previous year " (sic). I'm not convinced the figure is right and I'd like to see how they got it.
Unpaid tax on what activity?

They emailed me to say new code, access the site to view it. No-reply email and no phone number. It was on the site under Check Next Tax Year, but no contact information.

Thanks, I'll try that number. Is that a general number or just for on-line selling?

Thanks also to everybody else's comments
