Then launch from Mars to the next destination.
I wasn't aware we had a launch site on Mars?

We have water, oxygen, roads, heavy plant, scientists and great deal of other things here on Earth and launching humans into space is still extremely difficult. What on Earth makes you think we can achieve that on a barren inhospitable planet, three years round trip away from Earth?

Each time you do the maths, the difficulty leapfrogging onto the next planet rises exponentially. Earth does not have the resources to colonise another planet.

This is in the future we are talking, I dont think we can do it at the moment but give it a hundered years from now

we are talking about the future, 3000 years from now who knows.
What specific thing are we talking here? Are you saying humans will have found a way to endure thousands of years in space? Or that humans will defy the laws of physics and find a way to travel very quickly? Or that there will be a magical untapped supply of space conquering energy lurking somewhere?

None of those things are going to be happening on this planet boyo, prepare to be disappointed.

Proxima Centauri is closest at 4 point something light years. Not unimaginable to send something. It's a 3 star system so many planets I assume. I forgot about whether we've discounted life signs which we think we've detected elsewhere. At viable accelleration it takes a few months to get to useful speeds, But the energy is a snag. You can push tiddlers with lasers, but...

Do you think the distances will shorten? :(
In the same sense that we now. say it is a small world through our ability to travel thousands of miles that we couldnt before. So yes those distances will not be so great in the future.

Say 1000 years ago what would people have said if we told them that in 1000 years time, humans will be able to discuss topics on a mobile phone or Laptop etc on a website called DIYNOT while hundreds of miles from each other?

The ones with your mindset would say no way boyo.....

Agree?

Imagine, in the early 1900's, that someone would say "After countless millions spent, and the efforts of myriad professional academics, scientists, and keyboard warriors, no-one will have broken Einstein's theories in over a hundred years".........

..... and yet, here we are.....

In a million years humans might be reading this on Mars :-)
