Hi there, we had an emergency plumber come round as flooring guy cut a pipe by mistake when laying flooring. During this time the emergency plumber mentioned our unvented water tank doesn't conform to building regs. He said the pipe coming from the water tank to the drain was a plastic one and it should be copper. I can't see anything in the regs about this. Does anyone know what he may be talking about?
He works for a large london-based plumbing company, which I won't name here, but mentioning it as there was no way to contact him again as he was dispatched to us by a central hub. I did call the company to enquire, he said they would ask the question but never got back to me. I am curious to know as the plumber said it would invalidate our water tank warranty, which would be a pain.
