Police raid barbers and vape shops suspected of being fronts for crime gangs

The BBC follows raids on hundreds of High Street businesses suspected of money laundering.

In my city, these barbers, vape shops, car washes and mini markets have sprung up like weeds!!

Its been obvious that there is criminal activity going on behind it all.....

Like it states in the news, barbers where they always seem empty but remain in business....

I knew a guy who worked in one of the car washes. He said he got paid cash end of the week, nothing declared...

Its big business. Anyone with a brain can see that there is dodgy dealings going on with these places who, only ever accept cash as payment!!!

I used a barbers which seemed to tick the boxes for money laundering, no customers, lousy haircuts and closed after 12 months. And all in a high street location. Dodgy estate agents are another, the same properties are regularly on the market. And surely Russsian gifts to Leave politicians and their groups must be questionable

It's far from a funny situation, however I did chuckle (ironically) when watching a news piece about this last night. The reporter was standing in a small raided barbers with the police. 'And how much was this place making weekly?' the reporter asked. I think the police guy replied with something like '£30k a week.'

Yeah, something ain't adding up there right enough, that's a LOT of hair cuts and beard trims ...

As with all these things, I wonder if the authorities will maintain this push to expose these places. No doubt takes quite a lot of resources. Stating the obvious but that's what it needs, sustained attention and action.

Only 3! Blimey you are lucky!!!

One stretch of road where my mate lives has approx 10 of those barbers!!!!! Probably in excess of a couple dozen in the town!!!
