Adding width to a footing

Hi,
I’ve just had some trench footings dug and poured at 600mm width, I’ve been told that due to the wall been 10m long there needs to a pier on the internal brickwork 450mm into the building, making the footing not wide enough. Does anybody know if I can extended the footings width to accommodate this pier?

Does the new piece of footing need to be tied in? Or can I pour straight next to it to the same depth?

How far from the ground level is the top of the new concrete? Is it mass filled?

Yes it’s mass filled, varying in depths from 1.2 to 1.8m the concrete level is 400mm down from the ground level

I was kinda hoping that the new addition could 'step' over the existing. Looking at those foundation depth figures makes a mockery of that.

Slap some rebar against it and pour the new one next to it. Cold joints are fine!

Surely if the pier is tied in with the rest of the wall, then the new footing wouldn't need to be tied in all the way of its depth?
So horizontally drilled rebar near to the top of existing founds, or vertical rebar in both existing and new foundation with overlapped backfilled hollow blocks at the start of the wall?
