If you can feed it down the cavity then no, if you have to run it outside then yes or outdoor rated cable.

Do you have access under your stairs? The best option for aesthetics would be down the cavity but you won't know if that's possible until it's tried.

Could the socket go on the left return wall Green arrow and the cable run out of the back of the socket, under the stairs and out through the wall?

I do have access to under the stairs from the living room. We use it as a storage and the CU is there too.

The regs do also allow a socket to be spurred from an mcb not just a socket

This seems the easiest option now lol. So would I just attach the the cable directly to the live MCB and ofourse CPC and neutral busbar. Whilst dead .

Then clip the cable on the wall. Make a hole on the wall under stair case. Get it through to the outside wall. Take the wire across and deed it through etc.
