I really like this all-in-one cast stone bathroom basin, but HOW would you go about plumbing in the waste? The back of the unit is open, so flexible braided tap connectors could be used for the taps (no access to isolator valves?) BUT without using a long, flexible waste pipe from the trap, I just can't see a way!

Unfortunately, I don't have that option. Once again, I think I'm going to have to conform to convention. How boring. Lol

No. If that was the case, I was thinking it might be possible to set up the waste with a push-fit socket so I could just line it up and push it into place. Trouble is, I like to see that a good joint has been achieved.

Could it be dropped to a lower height and then come out the bottom at skirting height?

Ax above, you could probably pull it away from the wall enough to get your hand down the back to tighten a compression nut.
