If anything, worked for income ought to be taxed at a lower rate than unearned income, as my unconsidered opinion.

I Was mortgage free at 38. Never needed one since.

I was 40, but the house needed some work, so early 40’s.

The only IHT you would pay is out of YOUR estate after YOUR death.

People receive their inheritance net of tax. It’s dealt with by the executor prior to any distribution of the assets

I’ve acquired wealth, I want to make sure my kids keep as much as possible.

I think unearned income is worthy of taxation at least equal to that of earned income.
