Conditions for Innocent Passage
- While the right to innocent passage is a recognized principle, it is subject to certain conditions.
- Article 18 of UNCLOS stipulates that passage must be continuous and expeditious.

First you claim pushbacks are legal, then when you lose that argument you claim “stopping them gettin into British waters” is the new argument, then when that gets proven wrong, you now switch to claim “it’s ok, it’s using jet skis.”
Just admit you are wrong.
Just tell us what this MCA regulation is - you've got us all interested in it now. Put your repeat repeat change the subject pushback posts on hold and explain this MCA regulation that you refer to and tell us how it is relevant.
I think it was actually just a typo. MBK provided a link to the Merchant Shipping Act (MSA). Notch wrote MCA. It doesn't seem like a big deal.

Actually I posted an amendment which extended some of the requirements of the merchant shipping act to personal powered water craft.
A jet ski is a PWC, it is not a ship or small ship in every regard.
It’s relevant because only some of the obligations apply. I don’t believe it was coincidental that jet skis were chosen and that’s without getting in to the specifics of the Dover straight and the treaty regarding the territorial limit, since the gap is less than 24nm.
Of course it’s irrelevant were the limit is given the rights of the coastal state to prevent non-innocent passage.
