Students, prepare yourself for hurty words.

I had a young fella helping me build a bike last summer.
University brainwashed little soul.
He was offended by me laughing and joking with my Sikh neighbour about wearing a turban in hot weather.
The poor little soul got a lecture from my neighbour that he won't forget.
By the end of the week his brain was functioning again and he even made a "misogynist" comment down our local when a long legged lady passed by.
I hope he keeps up the good work

Why do you have such disdain for young people?
I don’t. In case you didn’t know, I spent the last 25 odd years of my working life training young disadvantaged people. At around 14 years old, they didn’t need warning that there are hurty words out in the real world so why should those who are deemed clever enough to go to university be warned?

Our daughter went to university with reasonably open eyes . She came back a very different person with extremely blinkered views

Just saying
What makes you think she is the one with the extremely blinkered views and not you?

@Mottie I've logged a complaint with the mods against you.

Why?

For not having a trigger warning that this thread might offend ;)

Jokes aside, I genuinely don't get all this GUFF about pre-warning people on this, that the other. e.g. tv progs. If you start to watch something and it offends you in some way, you can switch over or turn the tv off. If you go to a show and are offended to such an extent, walk out. They'll be slapping trigger warnings on Last of the Summer Wine soon.

And if you're in a situation where walking out perhaps isn't straightforward, suck the situation up. It's very doubtful in most (all?) professional settings the thing that's causing you offence will be being directed at you in an intentionally hurtful way.

What next? A trigger warning at my local massage parlour 'please be warned, you might be asked if you want a happy ending.'

Well, she’s very much like you

Won’t discuss. Sets in a position and is very reluctant to discuss other views. Seriously lacks any empathy.

And worse of all bangs on about the same stuff

Yawn
So what you are saying is that anybody with a different view to you is "extremely blinkered"

what does that tell us about you??

very reluctant to discuss other views
Murdochat, are you open to discuss other views?

do you think saying your daughter has "extremely blinkered views" shows you are open to other views?

its just a trigger warning

when theres a chat show about say suicide or domestic violence or rape etc, usually the host will give a warning so those who might be triggered by it can switch off

I think you might be talking about overuse, which is a fair point, I think we now live in a litigious society where we all end up having to be too cautious. its the packet of peanuts scenario "may contain nuts"

what does that tell us @Notch7

Repeatedly in threads you are asked for clarity on things you state. You extremely rarely back up your statements

AND I’ve often pointed out your lack of empathy

Maybe you should join us around our dinner table

Why do you have such disdain for young people?

Do liberals always deliberatly get the wrong end of the stick, or don't they understand anything?

It's not disdain for young people, it's dislike of nanny state, woke, liberal cretins - filling young peoples' heads with guilt trips. When they should be learning useful things and enjoying their youth. I didn't have greivance mongers putting pc bowlux on my shoulders to weigh me down when I was young. We're producing a bunch of permanently scared emotional cripples - frightened of their own shadows. Many are unable to communicate with adults unless by text, email or social media - such is their timidity.

Brainwashing. It starts in primary school these days.

Notchy is a prime example.

All tyrannies (eg. Hitler/Nazis) understood that if you get them young, you've got them for life.
