Hi
I’ve just had some 100mm concrete base laid for a hot tub (decking to go on top next week) and see there’s a few cracks showing.

Not sure if top only, or all the way through. It was a hot day Friday c22-25deg and there wasn’t any cracks showing late last night.

I see he used a membrane underneath it.

Edit: there’s a small crack here while it was wet: https://share.icloud.com/photos/0f6ExK9kPd7T8xNPIJrcil6qg

Any suggestions?

Thanks

As to what?

Yes there are some shrinkage cracks. Will they affect the performance of the concrete? Maybe if the shrinkage is considerable.

Will it affect the stability of the hot tub? Unlikely.

Looks like your typical lazy, rough arsed builder Friday afternoon job. Lay it - give it a vey quick trowel - run to the pub.

Is there any mesh in there?

I doubt there was any attempt at properly curing that slab which is disappointing but not unfortunately surprising as few builders have the expertise/pride in their work to do so.

Suggestion? Don't employ cowboys.
