Hi,

I have a brass bottle trap - see photo. 35mm.

I’ve got solvent weld waste pipes and now struggling to work out how I fit the two together.

I may have jumped the gun here when I bought it and not thought through whether I can get them to fit!

Thanks

The heading of the thread tells us it's 40mm solvent weld pipe.
You need to reduce that to 32mm, as already advised.

I think you'll find the McAlpine compression 32mm female will fit yer metal pipe. You may have to remove (penknife) the internal pipe support which you don't need and will be in the way
SO one of these to gfo from metal to 42mm

then a 42mm solvent street elbow/ long tail elbow. Not super common. This one shows dims in case you aren't familiar
but you'd expect 42mm

but you'd expect 42mm. Mostly they fit, but........
