I think some serve and volleyers had more aces. Sampras was the ultimate, though, because of his combination of power, speed, reflexes and all round play. A bit like John McEnroe combined with Boris Becker. "Cat like" was how he was often described. He is another player who started out as a baseliner, so he had a very good ground game.
