Tax free cash ISA allowance to be cut

I'm glad you seem to have learned the answer to your question now.
I was politely correcting you. I won’t bother next time.

“VAG and BMW eventually came to an agreement to tidy up the mess”

Is incorrect.

Back on ISA's. Got home from a break today and had a letter telling me that one of my fixed term ISA's (Kent Reliance - 4.94%) had matured on the 5th and they had automatically put it into another one year fixed term ISA at 4.15%. I had14 days from that date to transfer to another provider, withdraw it or move into one of their other ISA's. I looked online and their current 1 year fixed is 4.25%. Cheeky buggers. It's only worth just under a couple of hundred quid for the year but I’ve sent them a message to move it into that one. If they change the rate again before my 14 days are up and it’s better, I’ll move it again. Only takes a message or a phone call.

Sadly your "correction" seems to be invisible.

Vickers plc sold the vehicle designs, nameplates, administrative headquarters, production facilities, Spirit of Ecstasy and Rolls-Royce grille shape trademarks to VAG.

BMW bought the name and wanted to sell cars badged Rolls Royce with the iconic radiator and figurine, but didn't have the rights.

VAG wanted BMW to continue to supply engines, which VAG and the old factory couldn't otherwise source.

A mess.

So they came to an agreement to sort it out.

I don't know why you chose to introduce the idea of VAG and BMW being the same company.

The IP dispute was between Vickers and RR. VAG had no part to play.

Rolls-Royce Motors - a subsidiary of BMW (which is not part of Volkswagen Audi Group.)
Yes - I clearly stated BMW was part of VAG... Oh wait, I didn't.
No it isn't

It's a company that mostly makes aero engines. You can buy shares in it if you want. The price has recently rocketed in the hope of military orders.

It no longer owns the car company, which was hived off long ago, and VAG now owns.

VAG foolishly did not licence the rights to the name.

BMW subsequently did, and puts the name on badges on the cars it builds at a new factory near Goodwood, which has no connection or history shared with the old RR cars or factory.
Vickers didn't own the IP to the name, there was nothing foolish about it. They couldn't sell what they didn't own.

and of course the company that makes RR cars is not VAG.

As I said, next time I won't politely correct you.

Correct, renowned at that.

I said 'standard deflection'.

Or accurate.
what was the deflection?

Observe the context, which does not refer to the luxury car market.

Defence contracts for jet fighters, bombers etc use aero engines.

Rheinmetall and Rolls Royce have both had big increases in stock value since Putin invaded Ikraine,
Yes, I know, obviously.
