So an update on this:
I have noticed no different from this to the real Macoy crisps.

Fot the money they are worth it.

So now I have bought 2 of the M12 batteries.

So far very good. I bought these for the new M 12 Milwaukee fan I have just purchased. (Again very good).

These batteries are also good for my torches torches as now they stand like a lamp if needed.

1) If you've also got a genuine battery, how do the weights compare?

2) Should there be/is there a BMS inside the batteries?

I bought another replica brand a year or so back. They are massive and heavy.

These lot seem very similar in weight and size.

ATEOTD, there are no reasons why a 3rd-party manufacturer can't buy the same quality 18650 or 21700 cells (I'm assuming) as the one who makes the batteries for Milwaukee. Or use the same quality BMS. Or make/have made the injection moulded cases just as well.

And do all that and sell profitably at a lower price than Milwaukee.

The problem is how do you know what corners they might have cut?

It's the sort of thing crying out for a Big Clive teardown....

Im not sure what I need to be worried about, unless they are dangerous, or someone tells me the negatives of buying copies. Life for me is keep the money in my pocket, unless its hurting someone other that the rich.

I'm not one of the tinfoil-hat wearers who looks at a lithium battery and sees an incendiary grenade, but I might avoid leaving one charging "unattended".

At least for the first few months. In fact I might even run some tests where I flatten the battery and then leave it on charge for too long and see how hot it gets.

I agree. I have left overnight but not while the house is empty.

Have you ever watched Dragon's Den and noticed the mark up people put on their products. I f people like Milwwaukee do the same thing then I woud guess that is how others can undercut them with a product of the same quality.
The company I worked for priced themselves out of the market by initially making vast profits.

Yup.

And then one of their competitors undercuts them not by having lower margins but by having lower quality.
