Any easy way to repair (a lead pipe) (Ed.)

More clues needed - is it a water pipe, drain, gas, a cable? Is it metal, what type, or maybe plastic?

Hi thanks for the reply its a water pipe. Think it might be lead pipe unfortunately

Turn off the water, drain the water completely from the pipe, near the damage - then you need someone practiced in wiping lead joints, to repair the damage.

It' just a pipe, suggested being a lead pipe, and appears to be set in the ground, in soil, with a rather large nail, or screw set in it, but no evidence of water leakage in the photo.
