Manchester airport assault

After the remaining panel of jurors sent the judge a note the contents of which were not read out in court Judge Flewitt told them: "It's always better if you can to reach verdicts on which you are all agreed. But I'm going to ask you to continue your deliberations for a while longer." However, he added that if they could not reach unanimous verdicts then he would be able to accept a majority verdict of 10 jurors.

The jurors were sent out to continue their deliberations before being sent home for the day.

sounds like they are close but don't all agree.

Apparently he went off on a guy who racially abused his mother on the flight and appears to have got away scot free.
Looks like the police are protecting one of their own.

Mohammed Fahir Amaaz, 20, of Tarnside Close in Rochdale, was found GUILTY of the assault by beating of Abdulkareem Hamzah Abbas Ismaeil

He was found GUILTY of assaulting PC Lydia Ward occasioning actual bodily harm. Amaaz was found GUILTY of assaulting PC Ellie Cook by beating.

Muhammad Amaad, 26, also of Tarnside Close in Rochdale, denied a single charge, namely that he assaulted PC Marsden. Jurors were unable to reach verdicts on that charge in relation to both Mr Amaad and his brother Amaaz.

The prosecution said the Crown Prosecution Service would need time to decide whether there will be a retrial on that count - count two.

"It's the intention of the Crown to seek a retrial for both defendants on count two," Paul Greaney KC later said.

I’m guessing that Abdulkareem Hamzah Abbas Ismaeil was the guy receiving the head butt?
