Listening to an 'expert' on the telly just now, he says we have 3 days to identify someone we are planning to send back, then we have 14 days to notify the French. It can then take up to 3 months for them to be swapped and that’s if there are no legal challenges. That doesn’t seem lime much of a deterrent to me. They also said that 1500 have crossed the channel in the last week. Strangely, the official figures show nothing of the sort. Have they stopped recording them?

An average of 69 souls aboard one of those boats makes it a wonder they arrive at all.

It would be god to have a conversation in here, just once, without the nonsense. It's tiresome.

Stop asking silly questions and challenging every post I make then - it just makes you look argumentative and confrontational. Do you question anyone else's post on here like you do mine?

Why is asking where he got the information from, a silly question?

Unfortunately it is impossible to convince someone to change their deeply held belief or opinion if that belief wasn't formed through logical reasoning in the first place.

Farage hasn’t won over all his supporters by reason, facts or evidence

What an angry person you have become. Calm down.

they usually only have to manage a few miles before they are picked up by an RNLI taxi boat. Many don't even take enough fuel to get beyond half way.

If you look at the historic data, there have been plenty of times when zero crossings are detected for several days. May, June, July all had periods of 5 or 6 days with zero. Particularly around the beginning of the month.

I suspect that the smugglers are doing this deliberately to overwhelm the local authorities with clusters or simply achieve economies of scale. The claim is Wednesday's migrants have been detained, and Wednesdays boats have not been added to the tracker yet.

This could actually be a deterrent, in the same way Rwanda was. The fear of being returned, might be enough.

Soon of course everyone arriving will be under 18.

Or simply the smugglers will turn to uncontrolled landings. You only have to be at large for 2 weeks and you are exempt.
