Electric VW so cheap.....why

If including the price of the vehicle then it would be.
Just as it would be comparing a £50k petrol car and a £100k petrol car.
Or a £50k diesel and a £100k diesel.
Or any other type of fuel.
If only EV were the same price of normal cars...

When you say "normal", did you mean ICE?

In which case, some are, didn't you know?
A big problem with EVs is depreciation, your car has lost around 60% in 2 years, not many comparable(pricewise) ICE cars will lose as much, not too much of a problem if you want to keep the car long term or lease instead.

And the question is, why EVs - currently ( ;-) ) - do so?

Indeed. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. If folk believe the anti-EV BS, they won't buy EVs, so the residual values fall - which actually gives them something real to talk about, so the residual values fall...! The irony is that they become "Shrodinger's EVs" - whereby they can simultaneously be both "worthless" and "unaffordable"! :ROFLMAO:

EVs will always depreciate faster thans ICE, because the target market of customers is much smaller.

EVs are only suitable for those who -
* stick to town driving
*don't do long distances
*have somewhere off street to charge it
*don't mind the extra work involved in using EV

Guessing the above list reduces the customers for a used EV quite a lot.

Bugger! I wish I'd known! I live in the middle of rural nowhere and I went and got one!;)

*don't do long distances

OK, thanks for that valuable information. I'll stop doing 20,000+ miles a year in it now I know that... :ROFLMAO: Funny enough. I did Cumbria to Liverpool and back on Saturday in it, Cumbria to Glasgow and back yesterday. The week before last, I did over 550 miles in a day in it, but OK... whatever you say...

Gosh! You actually got one right for once!

*don't mind the extra work involved in using EV

Yes, it's a real chore, not having to do all those oil changes, not having to change those pads and discs for over 100,000 miles, and not having to scrape ICE off it on winter mornings...:ROFLMAO:

(Still have to top up the screenwash though...);)

It might... if it was true...
