Sorry, but that's hilarious if you are not on the receiving end. A stand up comic would pay good money for a line like thatHonest to God this is a true story. We once serviced a ladies car and she asked for the antifreeze to be checked. I told her we did that automatically on a service. When she collected the car I told her the antifreeze was okay and didn’t need changing/topping up. She asked me if I was sure. I told her I was. Two days later she came back screaming that we hadn’t checked the antifreeze so I asked her why she thought that. "Because I came out this morning and the car was covered in frost"! I explained what antifreeze was for but I think she still didn’t believe me. I have had other customers think it helps with starting the car in cold weather too.

Why not, if his car rolled down a hill into yours they should. To me he hasn't maintained his roof properly so is just as responsible.I thought that it would be the neighbours insurance that covered the damage. If my neighbours roof tile fell off onto my car then his house insurance would not be paying for it --- would it ?
Many workman now take pictures and videos of the place before starting work.I remember a job a few years ago, I was installing an intruder system, and i had to run a cable behind a big, antique looking wall unit on feet, I mentioned this to the lady of the house who brought to our attention that one leg was just propped, as it had come adrift during a move previously, anyway we carefully did our work and repositioned the unit, in place, complete with wonky foot.
Fast forward 6 hours, the lady had gone out, leaving us alone to work.
The husband arrives home, touches base with us, and left us to carry on.
An hour later he collars us whilst we were working in a cupboard 'What have you done to my unit, the leg is broken, it's worth £2000, you guys had better have good insurance'.
I allowed him to rant further for a few minutes about how we should take more care etc etc, and how he would leave us bad reviews on our performance, then I casually mentioned the conversation we'd had with his wife some hours earlier.
I suspect he wished the ground would open up beneath him, as he grovelled and tried to get out of the hole he had dug.
The job got finished ok, but blimey was he sheepish whilst we were there.
Don't ya just love customers sometimes eh?
