United States President Donald Trump has said his administration is “looking at” reclassifying cannabis as a less dangerous drug. Speaking to reporters at the White House on Monday, Trump said he would make a determination on the legal classification of the drug over the next few weeks. Trump said that while he had heard “great things” about medical-use cannabis, he had heard bad things about “just about everything else” to do with the drug. “Some people like it, some people hate it,” he said. “Some people hate the whole concept of marijuana because if it does bad for the children, it does bad for people that are older than children.”

Stocks in cannabis-related businesses soared following Trump’s remarks.

“As I have previously stated, I believe it is time to end needless arrests and incarcerations of adults for small amounts of marijuana for personal use,” he wrote on Truth Social. “We must also implement smart regulations, while providing access for adults, to safe, tested product.”

In the post, he indicated he would look into the medical uses of marijuana and the benefits of reducing its classification to Schedule III.

By the way; Reclassifying marijuana would not make it legal for recreational use by adults nationwide. Rather, it would change the way it’s regulated and taxed. Federal income tax deductions for business expenses aren’t available to enterprises involved in “trafficking” any Schedule I or II drug. Changing marijuana to a Schedule III drug could mean significant tax savings for businesses licensed to sell marijuana in states where it is legal.
It also could make it easier to research marijuana, since it’s very difficult to conduct authorized clinical studies on Schedule I substances.

Polling from Gallup shows support for marijuana legalization has grown significantly, from just 36% support in 2005 to 68% last year.

Russia clearly wants eastern Ukraine where the industrial assets are located. The west can go down the self annihilating path that the rest of Europe is following for all Putin cares.
I keep hearing that the Russian state is collapsing, that they are suffering massive man power losses, that Putin has cancer and will be dead soon.

My money is on Russia ending up with that they set out to get, or near enough.
