5 armed officers arresting someone as they land at a port of entry is absolutely not proportionate.

This should have been handled totally different, eg a cspo visiting his home for a chat about the tweets.

Fact is that this Draconian response is totally against right minded people's thinking and it's why the majority of people in this country are getting fed up with these stupid rules and 2 tier policing.

Why do we see blatant shoplifting now? People arriving on dinghies unchecked? Because left wing policing totally misses the point of priorities of people who want to get on and better themselves and this great country in an honest manner. It's going to get worse, folks. Mark my words.

But this issue does rather seem to have taken over his life.

It is all a bit strange.

Yes I saw him on a podcast last night and would tend to agree. I think it's become all consuming for him and his ostracisation e.g. by most of his showbiz colleagues etc hasn't helped. e.g. he was saying he had a Father Ted musical essentially ready to go that would most likely have made him millions. Shelved. Early on in his (campaign?) he was supposed to be directing a movie, got told one day then a day or so later they emailed him to say 'we've found someone else.' He thinks someone on the cast/crew has probably said 'he's a bigot' hence why he was dropped.

I'm not defending or against him. My point is, something like this could become all consuming especially if you feel your life has been negatively impacted.

I suppose that it's a one-way trip as well, as any previous career dries up so they forge a new one down that path.

The big problem was created when people mainly the lefties started getting offended at everything any one said, wether it was to do with trans genders then people identifying as whatever they like and the usual racist accusations to just about anything you say regards someone’s colour or race where it is meant as harmless suddenly turns into a major problem to them. Funny thing is though the ones who are the most offended and make the biggest scene over it normally has nothing to do with them. Things need to change before all anarchy breaks out.

Only going by what the met police spokesman said. And personally I've never seen a uniformed police officer at an airport not armed.


The arrest was made by officers from the force's Aviation Unit, the Met spokeswoman said, adding that it is routine for officers policing airports to carry firearms.

"These were not drawn or used at any point during the arrest," she said.
