Another unfortunate incident

Not just the Met.

Since 1990, 1433 people have died in police custody or after contact with police.

That's just over 5 people EVERY month.

HALF of those were suffering mental illness.

Shocking.

As the family says, the "evidence" was all over the place and much of it was rejected by the jury.

The family also said "We feel utterly let down by the Independent Police Complaints Commission investigation into Sean’s death which was inadequate and obstructive from the start. Until it is fundamentally reformed, the IPCC will remain incapable of exposing the truth when people die in police hands."

Just because they die in police custody doesn't mean that the police have killed them. Drink etc plays a big part.

Not the issue here though is it.

They don't say whether he was drugged out of his scull or even as drunk as a skunk, I'd lay odds it was one or both.

Martial arts is considered a lethal weapon, and when the public is threatened, let the cops do their job and take the guy/gal down in the most efficient way, which is what they did.

Wave a gun around in the high street, you can expect to get shot. and being a nut case is not an excuse.

Finally take away what power the police have left and we're all in trouble

All irrelevant.

What about the dodgy evidence given on oath?
what about the dodgy practices of the IPCC (effectively covering up the dodgy behaviour and evidence of the Police).

What dodgy evidence etc.

The Jury system is a complete lottery, heads you win tails you don't.

The cops took a potentially dangerous man down that was threatening the public. Job done end of story, if the guy gets shot or injured tough.

The death of a nut job going round karate kicking members of the public?

Good riddance. It was his own actions that brought about the arrest. Maybe the police could have done the restraint a little differently but I dont understand all the bleeding heart liberals mourning the loss - he was a violent nut job.

I would rather the cops restrain him quickly to prevent him hurting any more members of the public, or any member of the police.

If you want a more LAX policing approach, go to Sierra Leon, where gangs keep order by amputation and rape. If you want an example of true police states check out Korea. Here in the uk the balance is right but the moaners always like to abuse the privilege of free speech to defend some numpty that put himself in danger.

Perhaps you would like to go to Syria and complain like this in public there?

God help the Brazilian hurdlers then.
Last time one jumped a barrier, they shot him.

[. and being a nut case is not an excuse.
It`s an excuse to be on here  . It`s care in the community in action - WTF should we expect

.Yeah no. You know what , @ the end of the day , obviously , hey .It is what it is

F*ck him.

Lunatic attacks law abiding members of the public, he deserves to be restrained and arrested.

If he dies as a result......It is indeed unfortunate.

In actual fact, a simple push is seen as far too much physical abuse, so why even bother with a debate on the rights and wrongs of this case.

God help the future of this country.

He was a nutter on the loose with a heart problem.

If he had killed someone then the complaints would be coming in thick and fast saying 'why didn't the police do anything, he had attacked people before.'
