This man needs to be banged up

Your Wikipedia definition of Semite is wrong.
Wikipedia is not a scholarly source.
I would recommended the Oxford English dictionary.

Example. He was a Middle Easterner, you know, and he was a Semite.’
If you recommend the Oxford English dictionary, why do you use Lexico?

Additionally, you picked out one example sentence from a whole list that illustrates the historical use of the word, that might be construed to mean a current use, yet you fail to note its past tense. They could not use the present tense because it could not be applicable. All the other examples clearly indicate the historical reference to Semites.

All of those example refer to historical events because the label Semite is now obsolete as a reference to an ethnicity.

If that is the case, why is the term anti Semite regularly used by the mainstream media and others to denigrate those whose reputations they wish to destroy.
If someone is accused of anti semitism, is their alleged anti semitism driven by theological differences between their own religion and Judaism or is because they perceive Jewish people as a different group in society.
The irony is that true anti Semites never use the term "Semite" this the preserve of the BBC ,Guardian readers and other vested interests.
And we all know why.

Sorry, Vinty, but I think you are ignoring
a) the use of term "antisemitism" or "anti-Semitism" in its proper context,
b) ignoring the accepted and officially recognised definition of antisemitism,
and c) trying to apply the two separate parts of the word 'antisemitism' as though they are individual words, they are not.
It is a recognised word in the English language (either antisemitism or anti-Semitism or anti-semitism) and numerous versions of the officially recognised definition abound, meaning 'hatred of Jews' or words to that effect.

The term 'Semite' to describe anyone's ethnicity or culture is never used in a modern day context to to refer to an existing ethnicity. It is never used these days because it refers to a historical and biblical group of people.
By all means present any examples that you can find that use the term 'Semite' to refer to any existing peoples' ethnicity or culture. As the term is (apparently) used by the mainstream media and others, you'll have no problem finding a few examples.

As I have explained several times, to be Jewish, is to encompass ethnicity, religion, culture and nationality (as in the biblical reference to Israel, not the modern day state of Israel). Any of those aspects can be applied separately or together.

The irony is that true anti Semites never use the term "Semite" this the preserve of the BBC ,Guardian readers and other vested interests.

Sorry, I don't understand the point you are making.
Can you elucidate, please?

If I understand you correctly, you are accusing the BBC, Guardian, et al, of antisemtism, or not?

Bobby. truth is literally nobody gives a f&&k.
your’s and others like you who’s abhorrent efforts to manipulate the English language to suit your own argument and narrative is basically everything that’s wrong with , and makes the uk one of the most hated countries in the world.
You alone think it makes you intellectually superior to anyone who dares have a differing opinion to yours, when in fact the obvious time and effort you are willing to invest in sourcing recognised media online that happens to support your ‘opinion’ makes you nothing more than a messenger boy.
You have recognised the ambiguity in almost every word in the english dictionary and the combination of time, effort ,unscrupulous , pedantic relentless obsessive child like behaviour means you have the capability of seeing every debate out to its negation , with no right or wrong conclusion.
basically rendering you a c:LOL:nt.
