Are the border force and the RNLI losing their touch?

What would RNLI think of such a strategy. Perhaps seeing a small boat gradually sink within sight of their station, however they've been instructed by the government not to intervene.

But, and I think this is something Motorbiking alluded to earlier in the conversation, with the RNLI using well meaning donors' funds to run a 24/7 taxi service for economic migrants - it risks them being unavailable when genuine, legit mariners get into trouble. The loss of such seafarers are the only ones I would mourn - not law breaking chancers and parasites out for what they can get.

Research shows there are several reasons, including family already here and/or being able to speak English.

Earlier family members who also sneaked in? How many speak English. And if they do, they've learnt it as a second language. Why can't they do the same with French?

Only if you misunderstand and/or twist simple English language. Something you do with tedious regularity.

Which is why you always get this wrong. Get pwned. Then a few weeks later, when you think everyone has forgotten, you try using that same claim again.
righto

And why do they need interpreters, if their reason for coming to the UK, is that they already speak the language?

They dont seem to want to speak it when they get here - either that or "speaking English" is not one of the reasons.

So do we have a permanent RNLI boat bobbing about on the water waiting as they do come every day or is someone onboard the rubber boat calling the coastguard and saying they are in distress.
