Not made a car for 16 days now, OMG

They are on a about a government furlough scheme

Wonder what type of cyber attack can cause this? And I really hope they've tried turning the system off and back on again....

They say it’s young male British hackers who work together and make money by black mailing companies, who often pay out. There’s probably a Russsian and chineese involvement. But it seems JLR’s cyber security is as about as crap it’s vehicles reliability

Seems their computer systems are as reliable as their cars.

Terrible cars

You bought a JLR for the style, luxury, and—let’s be honest—the prestige. But what you didn’t sign up for was a constant stream of engine problems, repair bills that make your eyes water, and the endless stress of dealing with a car that’s more in the shop than on the road. If you’re facing Ingenium engine issues, you’re definitely not alone. Whether it’s timing chain failures, turbo blowouts, or injector meltdowns, these engines have given a lot of JLR owners some serious headaches

When I bought our Evoque, I made sure I got one with the tried and tested bullet proof SD4 engines and a six speed auto box. Never had anything major go wrong with it during our ownership.

Never owned one they do look good though...

My Range Rover last year cost just shy of 5k to keep on the road, servicing, tyres, repairs. Pretty good going and not too bad for a luxury car nowadays. I am hoping my BMW will cost me the same or I will be complaining.

I'm looking to change next year, but I'm going to have to prise the Discovery from Mrs filly's cold dead fingers, she loves it. Not cheap to run, but luxurious and as reliable as any other luxury car. Sure, you can google engine failures and find some distressing results, just as you can on VW or Audi.

I suspect jealousy comes into play.

100% it is pure jealousy, usually the ones who are spreading these things about are those who cannot afford one or have never owned one. Like any car, they need servicing to the manufacturers spec. Most of the horror stories are from poorly maintained cars.

Yep, correct service intervals, correct oil, no horror stories, apart from idiots on diy forums who drive a ford focus.

It's hilarious that those who peacock around in status cars think others are jealous.

Most are laughing at you and your massive bills, not jealous at all.

Lower class drive old bangers, upper class drive old bangers, aspiring middle class bankrupt themselves to try and impress.

Most don't own them anyway, they're rented from the bank for a massive direct debit every month.

Sad.

Why is it sad driving a car that you like? If you've got it, flaunt it, I say.

Hey, my pride and joy is a vauxhall vivaro, in the new year I'm hoping to upgrade to a Peugeot Boxer. In the meantime my wife loves her 'Disco', probably almost as much as likes making sad ******s like you jealous.

They're both fully paid for by the way.

I think that unlike me and you, Ivor might be ugly and therein lies the route of the problem. I do feel genuinely sorry for ugly people.

He just wouldn't fit into the luxury car market even if he ever won the lottery. Its all very sad.
