Jaguar Land-rover

100% it is pure jealousy, usually the ones who are spreading these things about are those who cannot afford one or have never owned one. Like any car, they need servicing to the manufacturers spec. Most of the horror stories are from poorly maintained cars.
Correct.
Many vagrants here attacked me left right and centre when I spoke about my A6 Le Mans.
Now I drive a scrap because of the midget, but when he goes I might get another beast and make the vagrants jealous again.
I miss the comfort and power.

There was a recent repeat of top gear on the tv from 20 years ago. Clarkson was saying that sales of 3 series (over a mill) had just overtaken sales of Mondeos, Cars are status symbols people and they will put up with reliability issues for the right badge.

I conduct an ongoing survey regularly for a laugh, I'm very sure there's an inverse correlation between poshness of car and happiness of driver. Happy, pleasant people letting people out of junctions in modest cars, angry scowly unhappy people driving aggressively in status cars. Must be the worries of those massive direct debits at a guess.

True dat.

The multi millionaire I rent my lock up from drives around in a van. Son of a farmer.
I have a neighbour who's utterly loaded. Has a classic car collection in a barn, all pristine 70s and 80s stuff. They look like they've just left the factory, you only see them when they pop out onto a trailer for their annual service.

He drives an old Toyota pickup. Says he likes it. Could easily afford absolutely anything else, just not interested.

I also know someone who keeps up appearances, has just got a brand new leased £80k box on wheels. Has a fancy house, wears flashy clothes. I know from a few things he's let slip that his net worth is somewhere close to £0. It's all on credit or from the many mortgage extensions he's had while the house has risen in value. Gets tense when I mention interest rates for some reason.

Lots of people drive old bangers who can’t afford a decent car. So what’s your point other than envy?

He seems to be suggesting that everyone who drives an old banger is a secret millionaire and anyone who drives a nice car is as poor as a church mouse.

I'd love a range rover but I cant afford one.....
Im gorgeous looking aswell....

Crowdfund for pete?.......

Hehe. Amused by those who think everyone who isn't worshipping at the shrine of brainless consumerism is envious of them. They're not, they're laughing at you.

Those people you think are going slower than you just don't have the power to go faster? They're not, they're just chilled out and driving safely. Most cars can do 90mph if the driver is stupid enough.

My Range Rover last year cost just shy of 5k to keep on the road, servicing, tyres, repairs. Pretty good going and not too bad for a luxury car nowadays. I am hoping my BMW will cost me the same or I will be complaining.
This obvious flexing is a lie, surely?

Why would anyone want to spend £5k a year (plus fuel?) to run a big square box on wheels?

I'm guessing you're typing this while catching the bus from your bedsit to Lidl.

Yes pure envy. I thought as much. You are just one of life’s losers. Sorry about that. You think 5k is expensive to run a luxury car. OMG. Do you get around on a push bike or something.

You wouldn’t look right in one. Stick to the horse and cart. It looks well on you.
