Yeah, it's a textbook example of someone not understanding the scientific process or how much research you need to do to confirm a cause.
Paracetamol during pregnancy might increase the risk of your child developing autism. The biggest study says it probably doesn't, but some others have found it might.
Having babies when youre old does increase the risk.
Having fevers during pregnancy does increase the risk.
Some infections do increase the risk.
But the biggest factor, by miles, is if you have a family member who is on the spectrum. It is nearly entirely genetic. If you want to make sure your child isn't autistic then don't procreate with anyone with a STEM degree.
The thing about Trumps fear mongering is that since we know fevers increase thr risk, not taking paracetamol might actually increase risk. Or people might use ibuprofen which is known to be risky for pregnant women.

When I was at school a very long time ago, there was only a handful of children with, dare I write , issues.
Some thing humans have done, or created, must be making things worse. Quite what I suspect has yet to be revealed, or maybe it has and it’s been hushed up

I think he, a man, was telling women they should just try to work through the pain.
Watching the press conference was scary. And watching him struggle to say the names of some of the medicines equally so ... the very kind of thing they'd have pulled Biden up for.

I think some kids have always been "different" they just didn't talk about it then. Plus, families stayed together. Family break down is a huge factor imo.

So it might, probably doesn't. That I'm afraid would not be enough for me, why take the additional risk and add to the already present "natural" factors. Apart from - of course to bring down a fever which has serious consequences.
Is this the same Trump that gave out such medical advice as injecting disinfectant to cure covid or indeed shining a bright light up somebody to do the same thing... think I will pass on donny's ramblings.

Pain isn't good for you either. And if you skip paracetamol for something more dangerous then it's clearly worse.

Yes, they were kept out of school or went to separate ones.
Once upon a time, the 1960s, Autism was diagnosed as a form of schizophrenia. It got slept out to a developmental disorder around that point bjt to qualify you had tl be completely non verbal. Around the 1980s it was widened to include milder forms and in the 1990s we started to consider it a spectrum.
So, if you were in school in the 60s then the children with 'issues' were in a nuthouse and doped up on lithium.
In the 1980s we started to include people with additional needs into mainstream education.
So if youre over 60 years old your educational experience is completely different to the current world. The people were still there, but hidden away.
Part of the reason we see more diagnoses now is adults who hadn't been diagnosed as children being picked up. People clearly on the spectrum who struggled with school because they didn't understand why things were difficult and no one understood that there were small changes that could be made to get more out of them as students.
