Trump Then...And Now

An equivalent here might be if Bojo makes a comeback as Tory leader and is re-elected as PM. And he decides that he wants to prosecute whoever was head of the Met back in 2022, for investigating him over Partygate. But nobody in the CPS will touch the case. So, he appoints one of his divorce lawyers as head of the CPS and they personally handle the prosecution. That is the sort of mad king lunacy we are now looking at with Trump.

And people still support him.

On reading more about the case, it is utterly shocking.

The experienced prosecutors handling the case decided that there were no grounds to prosecute. So, Trump fired their boss and installed one of his own personal defence lawyers instead. That woman, who has never been a prosecutor and has zero experience, signed all the indictments herself, because none of the professional prosecutors in the department would agree to go along with it.

This is just an incredible violation of due process.

The USA is hurtling into authoritarianism.

The ironic thing is, if it were the other way round, Trump and the republicans would be going ballistic!

Yes that's politics, however the double standards know no bounds in the swamp.
