Hello all,
I have ewi installed graphite boards with silicon render and in the internal loft an area about 2.5 m square concrete rendered.
Reading lots of horror stories about damp getting trapped behind ewi and I presume the concrete render would stop anything of that evaporating inside so could I end up with a nightmare scenario of trapped moisture , or is the area sufficiently small to not worry to much?
Also I read that concrete sucks up water like a sponge so in that case why wouldn’t the render not suck up any possible damp in the brickwork and actually wick it inside to evaporate in the loft space and out through roof ?
I’m confused and paranoid :-/
Many thanks
