Its inevitable the programme will be rolled back but to me this is one of the top things all political parties need to reconsider.

UK emissions is very low compared to others and other countries dont give a hoot, its driven up energy prices going back 15 years, forcing many people into expensive tech that dont work and is forced onto people. Its especially a priority for councils who use it to force areas into LTNs and other anti motorist policies . Its used to dodge dustbin collections and force people into expensive recycling policies which to be honest really end sup with the waste being buried in landsite and shipped to other countries to be burnt, and its used to switch off street lighting to meet netzero targets which is not good for safety.

We are seeing an ever increasing energy bills with no end in sight and implementing green methods that dont generate power when there is no wind and our industry pays the highest energy bills in Europe.

Then again companies like Octopus Energy have invested heavily in heat pumps and many others have invested heavily in green energy sectors to update their skills.

In my opinion it needs to be rolled back drastically and not forced onto people , rather a choice. Mr Milliband needs to be patted on the back and moved on and his dept abolished.

every time I ask the experts on here about moving to a heat pump, I am told I will regret it.

It could even be a fad we are going through, a moment in life where we all agree about climate change and sign up to it for 15 to 20 years then find out its not working and all we are getting is expensive bills and a massive hindrance to everyday life then just let it go for another 20 years then jump onto it again.

Like I keep saying ---- Feel conned yet

its driven up energy prices going back 15 years
to be fair the huge rise in energy prices in recent years is due to fossil fuel increases: wholesale gas prices.

We are seeing an ever increasing energy bills with no end in sight and implementing green methods that dont generate power when there is no wind and our industry pays the highest energy bills in Europe.
the reason we have highest energy bills in Europe isn’t to do with green energy, it’s to do with privately owned fossil fuel companies

The problem is electricity as a cost per KWh of energy is 3x more than gas.

Moving to a heat pump from a gas boiler only works financially if you have solar + batteries

Moving to a heat pump from oil boiler is quite possibly a good move.

But heat pumps are often installed with badly designed and specified systems

Wholesale gas prices was on the up after covid end of 2021 and boosted during Russian invasion, however they have come down drastically since.

True, earlier pumps were installed incorrectly by slap it on the wall installers with no proper thought. Thats all changed now but it still require a huge investment and only really works in houses that are newly built to proper insulation standards . I know some installers who only stick to gas boilers and dont want to get involved with heat pumps as its too much work in will not work in old houses unless that house has been full insulated top to bottom.

Some recent studies show that even the kids today are turning off from it all - despite the constant brainwashing since primary school

"Today 15 per cent of 18 to 24-year-olds said the climate change threat had been exaggerated and 20 per cent of voters aged between 25 and 49"

So a minority of people aged between 18 and 49 think global warming is exaggerated (less than 20% overall going by that).

But even that isn't meaningful, as whether it is real or not is not up to the public. Would you rather trust the public or 1000s of experts on issues like this.
