I would guess the garments cost a few pence each to produce, and a lot of the cost is in the shipping, so who knows. The beeb reported there were other companies that were involved in the procurement, so maybe the arrangements are even more complicated than appears to be the case.

I think the NHS organised the shipping.

The VIP lane must have helped, in fact it probably inspired them, but breach of contract is not fraud. I doubt plod will get very far as the manufacturer, and possibly some of the supply chain is a foreign jurisdiction. DHSC approved the Order then got them to sign a contract they couldn’t fulfill.

And you pocket (it would seem) tens of millions net profit. Nice work, almost completely a desktop exercise.

The sad thing is that there were real companies with decades of experience who could supply the correct NHS PPE. They couldn't get near a contract. ARCO one of the biggest suppliers had them on their stocks but was rejected for a contract. If that doesn't spell scam I don't know what does.

These were high demand items at the time. Seem to cost around £2 to produced and ship. If they actually delivered sterile products she’d probably be in the shadow cabinet, but its difficult to attribute the fraudulent act of faking the CE marks to her, she just wouldn't have known.

Happy to go to prison for fraud? You took the money, you fitted the parts

Imagine the fake parts failing and killing the customer
