It isn't that they don't care, it is funding and mental health is massive which would overload them. They do have a duty of care when releasing soldiers that they have trained to kill but simply do not have the facilities. It should be down to the NHS and the government to ensure the proper care is given.

There is an agreement called the "Armed Forces Covenant"...

Study after study has shown that this Covenant is broken almost at will...

For example...

"A recent Defence Committee report concluded that military personnel and veterans in need of mental health care were being "completely failed" by the system. The committee described the minimal funding for veteran-specific services as a "scandal".

As I mentioned the government don't care and pass the problem on to underfunded local authorities, and the NHS is also woefully underfunded as it is...

So those that suffer after service life often end up on the streets!
