Best wishes to the hostages, prisoners and otherwise from all sides released today.

I agree with that.
America, Britain and Europe should withdraw all support from the region , including Israel and let them sort it out among themselves.
Eventually a group will emerge from the chaos as top dog and some form of stability will return.
Problem with that, only one Country has nuclear weapons.

And it doesn't exactly help that israel funds some of the groups who are in conflict with hamas.
Every society has its criminals, when the law and order system that kept these types supressed breaks down , they start coming out of the woodwork.
Israel understands this very well and knows how to exploit it.
They use criminals to undermine the people they wish to dominate.

I hope they recover the remains of the dead hostages as soon as possible.
Any delay will give the Israelis the excuse to break the ceasefire and start killing again.
The problem is that the location of the hostages would have been a closely guarded secret , known only to a very select few.
It could be that those who know the location, could themselves be dead.

Some excuse of a ceasefire!!

The Israelis still hold more than 10,000 Palestinian "hostages".
360 of them children.

Israel releases a West Bank Palestinian to Gaza, and ransacks his home in the West Bank

And the IDF commandeer two houses for IDF barracks.

Fannie Lou Hamer famously said, “Nobody is free, until everybody's free.” She committed her life to calling out injustice, bringing light to the racism, misogyny, economic inequality, and ableism faced by Black people in America.

Maya Angelou:
"The poet and civil rights activist Maya Angelou used the phrase, "The truth is, no one of us can be free until everybody is free"

Martin Luther King Jr.:
"The idea is similar to his famous quote, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality," and the sentiment is often connected to his legacy"

Nelson Mandela.

Frederick Douglass:
"No man can put a chain about the ankle of his fellow man without at last finding the other end fastened about his own neck."

You’re incredibly naive if you think this will lead to anything other than conflict for decades to come.
Things will get worse. I cant see there being peace there.
I hope they recover the remains of the dead hostages as soon as possible.

Unless a proper Palestinian state is established, unless the illegal Israeli settlements are removed, unless Israel stops supporting the settlers terrorising Palestinians, unless Israel abandons its plans for its version of "from the river to the sea", unless all pro-Palestinian armed groups disband because there's no longer any need for an armed struggle against Israeli occupation, then it won't be the last such intensification.

Unless those things happen, the children and grandchildren of Hamas and the children and grandchildren of the IDF will end up fighting again.

Do you really think that's the reason?
That is one of the main reasons...

And it's based on historical events such as the Naqba...

In addition to be going against the internationally recognised Palestinian right of return.

Plus those who were expelled by israel have had to spend decades in refuge camps without full rights...

Because if they were treated otherwise, they would lose refugee status and that right to return.

Hamas have had gun battles with resident Palestinian groups too!
Yes, the ones funded by Israel which are designed to destabilise Hamas.

There's so much wheeling and dealing by Israel, it'd have Del boy turning in his grave.

Israel already has broken the ceasefire with the shooting dead some Palestinians and withholding Aid.

The 20 point agreement created impossible conditions to be met.
Anyone with any sense would have realised that 28 bodies cannot be located in a couple of days.
The red cross knew this. Any criminal investigator would have known this.
They still can't find the graves of the three children murdered by Brady and Hindley in the early 1960's on the moors near Manchester.

Which should be universally condemned...

There are several reasons why finding all the remains will be nigh on impossible...

For starters living hostages are more easily moved than lugging coffins around. They have more value than the dead, even though israel understandably wants them back...

Remains were thus probably more static, and given the devastation that israel has inflicted on Gaza it's quite likely that some are untraceable...

But here's a point that asfaik hasn't been discussed much.
We have been told for some time that there were 20 living hostages and indeed 20 were released.
Not 19 or 21 but exactly 20.
That means there must have been some 'back channel' communications going on, as no amount of 'intelligence' is that good.

Hamas has said that there are about two dozen sets of remains, but given the destruction there's bound to be confusion as the misidentification shows...

Let us hope that israel doesn't go back to it's usual ways if there is a corpse missing.
After all, how many Palestinians will never be found?
