Woke culture is about being aware of racial prejudice, discrimination and other injustices. It's also about being aware of Climate Change and similar existential threats to humanity.

What happens in universities is very significant, because it becomes national policy a few decades later when today's students mature. But I do agree with him when he says, Kirk has persistently said more unpleasant things in his time.
But let's not call for cancelling people or debate because some unpleasant things are said.
Some times (and I am not saying this was one of them) unpleasant things need to be said.
We should constrain ourselves to arguing over the issues, not the person who said something with which we disagree.
